PREVENTION EDUCATION

HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Programs are available in English and Spanish and reach all segments of the County through school-based programs, workplace seminars, small group sessions, street outreach and community television.

Prevention programs include:

• Age-appropriate programs for students
• Presentation to community groups
• Bi-monthly BCTV programs
• Resource Center open to the public
• Health education and risk reduction counseling for individuals and groups
• Free, confidential and anonymous HIV antibody testing
• Outreach programs to high-risk populations (prisons, homeless shelters, streets, home parties)
• Distribution of, and education about, risk reduction supplies
• Training of volunteers to educate their peers
• Peer Education Training for volunteers to assist BAN educators
• Prevention Case Management
