EDUCATION
HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Programs are
available in English and Spanish and reach all segments of the County through
school-based programs, workplace seminars, small group sessions, street outreach
and community television.
Prevention programs include:
- Age-appropriate programs for students
- Presentation to community groups
- Bi-monthly BCTV programs
- Resource Center open to the public
- Health education and risk reduction
counseling for individuals and groups
- Free, confidential and anonymous HIV
antibody testing
- Outreach programs to high-risk
populations (prisons, homeless shelters, streets, home parties)
- Distribution of, and education about,
risk reduction supplies
- Training of volunteers to educate
their peers
- Peer Education Training for
volunteers to assist BAN educators
- Prevention Case Management
